I was very honored to have been asked to write a new clarinet work for my dear friend, Melissa Everson. And upon. brainstorming, I knew that her heritage made her very special and I wanted to highlight with the new work. She often recalls a lullaby that her Mayan mother used to sing, A La Rorro Niño, and it held a special place in her heart. This piece is dedicated to Melissa and the many sacrifices her family has made.
