Hoala: Awakening

For Symphony Orchestra

Commissioned by the Symphony of the Hawaiian Forests.

Written for the finale of Hawaii Symphony Orchestra and University of Hawaii's educational concert series, Hoala: Awakening explores the relationship of trees with one another. While sitting in nature, I was inspired by how each individual leaves move with one another, creating a ripple from a gust of wind.

Will be premiered in April 2023 by the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra.
